Importance of a Mask

Masks are so important in today's society. I have seen so many people try and use their disability as a excuse to be a horrible person. Wearing a mask stops the spread of COVID -19 and keeps everyone you know and yourself safe. To only think of yourself in this time is selfish and borderline narcissistic . We as a community need to work together to stop COVID. I understand that the sensation of a mask is uncomfortable. I don't like masks at all, I wish I did not have to wear one. But I do, in order to keep my self, my family, my boyfriend, my friends, my co-workers, my clients, and my community safe.
There are ways to help relieve the negative sensory stimulus that occur with a mask.

You can use essential oils on comfortable masks that help your brain cope with the negative sensory processing.

This is a list of masks that I like:

Masks Similar to KEEN  –https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089T5NVNQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Right now is the time for coping skills. I know it has been a long time (for me since February) since I have not had to wear a mask in public, but it is needed and using coping skills honestly help.

We have to get through this together, which means that no one can be above the rules of wearing a mask. If you medically cant  use a mask then use a face shield , or do not go out in public. But only thinking about your own sensory experience during COVID is not an option. We as a community need to use our coping skills and think about others, so that all of us can get through this. If we show compassion and understanding then we will be a stronger community on the other side of COVID.
